I’ve worked on 5+ websites in English (and a few in Spanish!) over the years. Beyond writing and annotating website manuscripts, I’ve collaborated with UX and art teams to hone my skills in content strategy, audience segmentation, SEO, and more. SansPeriod is an innovative typeface that hides period education in periods used as punctuation. It was designed to secretly share facts about the menstrual cycle after Florida passed the “Don’t Say Period” law, which banned sex education (including period education) in public schools until up to the 9th grade.

I contributed by:

  • Writing many of the facts that appear in each of the periods that make up SansPeriod

  • Creating a TikTok explaining how the font works inspired by GRWM videos

  • Participating in brainstorms alongside creatives at my agency and activists at The Period Movement

SansPeriod was downloaded over 100,000 times and received honors from Webby Awards in the Responsible Innovation category.

Book bans are preventing people from learning about their physical and mental health in prison. So, my agency partnered with activists at the Claremont Project to create a women’s health textbook Contrabanned.

My contributions were:

  • The “Know Your Rights” statement above, which was not initially in scope

  • The chapters about sexuality & gender, mental health, and cancer (download them here or donate to the Prison Library Project for the entire book)

  • Reviewing the 100+ page book with the editorial team to ensure language was accessible for a 4th-grade reading level and gender inclusive

  • Writing the website manuscript

Contrabanned has received an Honorable Mention in the Social Responsibility category for the awwwards.

Optune Lua is a wearable, FDA-approved device used together with chemotherapy and immunotherapy for adults with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer. I helped the Optune Lua team with the site before launch by:

  • Making the website manuscript by pulling through and adapting approved messaging from print assets

  • Collaborating with the UX and XD teams to make updates to the site map based on changes to content

  • Taking part in many rounds of regulatory reviews and revising website copy accordingly

  • Overseeing fact-checking conducted by more junior copywriters

  • Writing the metadata and alt text for the site
